Our Privacy Commitment

CalcBit is built on a foundation of zero data collection. We believe financial calculations should be private by default. Every calculator on this platform runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared with third parties.

This policy describes how we handle information when you use CalcBit. By using our website, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Calculator Input Data

We do not collect any data you enter into our calculators. All calculations are performed client-side using JavaScript in your browser. When you close or refresh the page, your inputs are permanently deleted. No financial data — loan amounts, interest rates, income figures, or investment values — is transmitted to our servers.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand general usage patterns. This includes:

  • Pages visited — which calculator pages are most popular
  • Referrer information — how users find CalcBit (e.g., search engine, social media)
  • Browser type and device category — to ensure compatibility and optimize performance
  • General geographic region — at the country level only, never precise location

This data is aggregated and anonymized. It cannot be used to identify individual users.

1.3 Information You Voluntarily Provide

If you contact us via the contact form or email, we collect the information you provide (name, email address, message content) solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is retained only as long as necessary to address your request and is never used for marketing or shared with third parties.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

CalcBit uses minimal cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the website:

  • Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality (e.g., session management). These do not track you across websites.
  • Analytics cookies: Used to count page visits and understand traffic sources. These are privacy-friendly and do not collect personal information.

We do not use:

  • Advertising cookies or trackers
  • Cross-site tracking cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Third-party behavioral tracking

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site analytics but will not impact calculator functionality.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used solely for:

  • Improving website performance and user experience
  • Identifying and fixing technical issues
  • Understanding which calculators are most useful to our users
  • Responding to your inquiries when you contact us

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We use the following third-party services that may process anonymized data:

  • Hosting provider: Securely hosts the CalcBit website
  • Analytics provider: Privacy-focused analytics (no personal data shared)

Each service provider is contractually bound to protect data and use it only for the specified purpose.

5. Data Retention

Aggregated analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months after the inquiry is resolved. Calculator input data is never retained — it exists only temporarily in your browser's memory during the current session.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@calcbit.in. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

CalcBit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. Data Security

Since we do not store calculator inputs, there is no risk of your financial data being compromised in a data breach. We use HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS) for all connections to CalcBit. Our hosting infrastructure follows industry-standard security practices including firewalls, regular security updates, and access controls.

9. International Users

CalcBit is hosted in India. If you access the site from outside India, your information may be transferred to and processed in India. By using CalcBit, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be notified by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
