What is Retirement Calculator?

A retirement calculator helps you determine how much money you need to save for a comfortable retirement. It considers your current age, desired retirement age, life expectancy, expected returns, and inflation.

How It Works

The calculator projects your future expenses considering inflation, estimates the corpus required at retirement, and calculates the monthly savings needed to reach that corpus.

Formula & Calculation Method

Required Corpus = Annual Expenses × (1 + Inflation)^Years / Expected Withdrawal Rate

Future expenses are adjusted for inflation. The required corpus is calculated using a sustainable withdrawal rate (typically 4%).

A general rule is to save 25-30 times your annual expenses. For example, if your monthly expenses are ₹50,000, you need a corpus of approximately ₹1.5-2 crore. Our calculator provides a more accurate estimate based on your specific parameters.

The 4% rule suggests you can withdraw 4% of your retirement corpus annually without depleting it for 30 years. For a ₹2 crore corpus, you can withdraw ₹8 lakh per year (₹66,667/month).
